Brooks RoomWith a box full of classic films and musical scores, pianist Richard Hughes adds a third dimension of mood music to the very best films of the Golden Age of Silent Movies.

Silent films are treasure troves bursting with adventure, drama, romance, and comedy. Put together with live “Mood Music” accompaniment, these films provided education and entertainment for over 100 years.
Pianist Richard Hughes will highlight a selection of early cartoons, historical dramas, serial thrillers, and slap-stick comedies featuring legends like Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, and Buster Keaton, all brought to life with sound effects and live musical accompaniment. Audience members will also have the opportunity to synchronize sound effects to a 1913 melodrama using animation devices.
Sponsored by the Wilbraham Friends of the Library. Registration encouraged.
